Rise
Find What’s Yours To Do In This Time
Systems that have shaped our world for generations are breaking down. New forms are struggling to emerge. For those of us committed to social & ecological healing, this creates a particular challenge: knowing where to direct our energy, what work is genuinely ours to do.
As a changemaker, it’s not uncommon to find yourself exhausted from trying to address everything at once, or frozen by the impossibility of choosing.
For some, the work that once felt meaningful, no longer does; leaving the vacuum questions of do I stay or go? if so, where, what next? is that letting others or the mission down?
Still others of us sense a calling but can't quite name it, or doubt whether what they're hearing is real.
Rise addresses this challenge through a structured process of discernment. Over six weeks, you’ll engage in practices designed to clarify what work is genuinely yours - not what urgency demands, not what others expect, but what emerges from deep listening to your own calling, capacity, and context.
We live in a time of profound transformation.
The Journey
Over six weeks, you’ll move through a process of release, reclamation, and deep listening to find what’s yours to do in this time.
Importantly - “what’s yours” is not necessarily a paid career or some ‘big mission’. Rather, this is about connecting to the path that is truly yours and in alignment with your wellbeing, callings and purpose.
We begin by acknowledging where we are - between worlds, between systems, in a moment that's both collapsing and being born. You’ll explore the inherited stories about what you were perhaps “supposed” to do who you’re supposed to be, with space to let go of what no longer is needed.
The program then shifts to practices of deep listening.
This includes through the body, learning somatic discernment - the felt difference between our intuition, gut knowings, callings and those “shoulds" - stories that belong to another place and time.
We explore what genuinely calls to you by bringing together your heartbreak, your joy, and what skills you actually enjoy using.
You’ll also examine the three threads you can weave as a changemaker - building, healing and disrupting - and discern which is best for you to weave right now.
You’ll leave with clarity about your next step and the direction that is right for you.
Start Date: Wednesday, February 25 2026 - Wednesday April 1 2026
Duration: 6 weeks
Format: Six x 90 minute live weekly Zoom sessions, plus workbook material
A Space To Listen
We live in a time that's constantly shouting at us. Do this. Fix that. Hurry. More. Louder. Bigger. Faster.
And underneath all that noise, there's a quieter voice - the one that belongs to you, and the one that knows your next step.
Your body knows. Your heart knows. The part of you that lights up when you're doing the work that's actually yours, that's the part that knows.
Rise creates the conditions for you to hear it.
This six-week program offers intentional space to step back from urgency and overwhelm and find your answer to the questions that brought you here:
What am I supposed to do now that the work I've been doing doesn't feel right anymore?
How do I choose where to focus when everything feels urgent?
How do I honour my own needs when there’s so much suffering?
Am I allowed to want something different, or is that selfish?
How do I know if what's calling me is real, or if I'm just avoiding the hard stuff?
What if what I want to do/am doing seems too small to matter?
Who Should Join
We subscribe to Joanna Macy’s definition of an activist; anyone who is active for a purpose larger than personal gain.
So whatever you do in the world - if your work (paid or unpaid) is in service to a more just, more loving or more regenerative world, we welcome you to Scintilla as a changemaker.
The program is designed for people at different stages: those who have been doing changemaking work for years and are questioning their path; those who are clear they want to contribute but unclear how; those who are exhausted from trying to do everything and need to find what's actually theirs.
Participants should be willing to engage in somatic practices, examine inherited assumptions, sit with discomfort and uncertainty, and trust that clarity emerges through process rather than analysis alone.
"Vocation does not come from willfulness. It comes from listening."
— Parker Palmer
You won’t leave Rise with five-year plans or perfect roadmaps. That's not how callings work, and this is not a career course.
You will however, leave with:
Clarity about what's yours right now, even if still emerging, a sense of direction and your role as a changemaker
Practices for ongoing discernment. Methods for checking in with the body, distinguishing between calling and obligation, and continuing to listen as work evolves.
Feeling Empowered. Capable of more than you imagined, the knowing that your actions matter, and supported in your next step.
Community. A cohort of fellow changemakers who understand what it means to do this work.
Permission to trust yourself. To follow what calls, release what doesn't and know each thread in the tapestry of change is an essential weaving.
About the Program & Format
Rise is not about doing more. It's about doing what's yours.
The world doesn't need you to do everything. It needs you to do the thing only you can do, in the way only you can do it, from the place of genuine calling rather than obligation.
This program won't tell you what that is. We don't prescribe paths or solutions.
Instead, Rise creates conditions for your own wisdom to emerge. For the clarity buried under urgency, overwhelm, and guilt to surface, and for your body and calling to speak clearly enough that you can finally hear them.
Rise begins on Wednesday, February 25 at 6pm GMT (10am Pacific | 1pm Eastern | 7pm CET), and runs for six weeks.
You’ll receive a comprehensive workbook to use alongside and beyond the live program.
Facilitator - Laura Hartley
I’m the founder of the Scintilla Centre.
I started working with changemakers through my own experience as a climate and environmental activist. I understand the challenges that change-work can bring, and the skills required for our work to be impactful: relationship building, creativity, conflict reconciliation, storytelling, and the ability to keep going when the problems feel impossibly big.
My intention - as a coach and as the founder of Scintilla Centre - is to support changemakers in developing the skills, wisdom and community needed to remake the world.
Because honestly? Our world needs you and your work right now - and we need you at your most creative, most energised, most clear.
About Scintilla Centre
Scintilla Centre develops programs and learning spaces for changemakers navigating this time of profound transition. Our work integrates inner and outer dimensions of change, drawing on somatic practices, systems thinking, contemplative traditions, and decades of organizing experience.
We believe transformation of systems requires transformation of selves. We create spaces where changemakers develop the wisdom, skills, and community needed to sustain themselves and their work across the long arc of social change.
Rise is part of Scintilla Centre's broader curriculum for changemakers, which includes courses on power, regenerative leadership, and wisdom for holding difficult times.
Praise for other courses
Lucy, United States
“From the readings, to the discussions, to the facilitation and pace, this course offers an opportunity for both seasoned activists and newcomers to find a reflective place to deepen their understanding and practice, while leaning into envisioning new possibilities...”
Ruth, Australia
“Every session left me full of ideas, thoughts, questions, and a much deeper understanding of myself and my purpose in this world. I loved this course - and all the wonderful people from all over the world who shared this space - and, while so thankful to have been involved, I'm quite sad that it has come to an end.”
